Michele,
A great idea and I loved seeing the utube performance by Laura of Save The Country. That is the first song I ever heard her sing and it’s still my favorite. I have a couple different versions on cds.
I loved your book about her and I’m so impressed with your dedication to her.
Best regards,
Rob
how wonderful, those lips…..so much soul god came from them.
Thanks for the blog, Michele. I’m still in love with Laura and wish she were around to see something good about to happen in her country. I’m sure she’d be singing about it.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to post on this – maybe this is it. Loved the peggy lee with petula – who knew?!!!!! Fun stuff bubbsie….
Bubbsie? that is just adorable…

thanks for all the x-tras on laura. i was honored to meet her bro jan at a tribute to laura at nyc university of the streets in the east village. take care – joey k.d.
Thanks for all that information on Laura. Went to high school when she was there. She was ahead of me. Her passion and transcendent music are – incredible. Never get tired of it. Every year discover it anew. Have not read the book, but will. Why are there no photographs of Laura with her love Maria, or any of Maria’s paintings? I am a painter.
I would sure love to have a copy of the photo of bare-shouldered Laura at the piano. Is that a Michele Kort copyright photo or the work of someone else? Loved the bio. of Laura by Ms. Kort and gave a copy to a beloved friend.
Michelle,
Thanks for putting this together! I have a question – you say that Laura was 3/4 Jewish, but everywhere else I look online it says she was half Jewish. Do you have information about her Dad that others are unaware of?
